Medical Student Research Day Celebration 2022

Since 2016, we have participated annually in the College of Medicine Research Day event coordinated by the Office of Research Affairs. Students are encouraged to submit their research for inclusion in the 2022 event, being held on February 15th, 2022. We will also host our own Medical Student Research Day via Zoom on February 28th, 2022. Participation in the February 28th event is a requirement for completion of the Medical Student Research Program.

Medical Student Research Awards
T.B.A.

Students will give a short presentation to a small group of peers and one faculty judge. Each student will have 3 minutes to make the presentation and 2 minutes for questions. Creating a short, focused presentation can be challenging, and the following video provides some information on how this can be accomplished (Creating a 3-min quick shot presentation). The judges will deliberate the top presentations immediately following the last presentation. A select number of students will be invited to present their posters the following night, February 17th from 5:30-6:30pm in front of 4-5 judges.  The winners will be announced the following day and will be presented an award at the Medical Student Research Awards which will be held on Tuesday, March 9th at 5pm via Zoom.

The following awards are available:

  • Alpha Omega Alpha prize $1000
  • The Goodman Trust prize of $ 500
  • The Goodman Trust prize of $ 400
  • The Goodman Trust prize of $ 300
